Personal Injuries

Seamus Maguire & Company has over 35 years of representing clients who were injured as a result of accidents. In Ireland all personal injury claims with the exception of medical accidents must be submitted to the Injuries Board. This independent Government body will only assess a claim for compensation if liability is not disputed.

If an award is made and either party is dissatisfied the person who has suffered the injury may continue with their claim through the Court system. A person who has suffered an injury in an accident has a limit of 2 years from the date of the accident in which to register their application. It is essential that the application submitted to the Injuries Board is completed with great care and should be completed with the assistance of a Solicitor who has been fully advised of the circumstances of the accident and of the resulting injury. It is vital to ensure that the claim is properly registered and the Injuries Board has issued the acknowledgement required by statute.
